Team Centreville too much for Team Dirty

   By Steve Richardson, Associated Press
NKEC, canning.,- Team Dirty had the unfortunate task of playing the most potent offense in the International Floor Hockey Championship Tournament first, and Team Centreville held nothing back.
Led by a huge 4 goal performance by defenseman Nic Brewster, Day 2 of the tournament saw Team Centreville hand the Dirty squad a decisive 9-0 defeat on the first day of the tournament for both clubs. "Well I thought our squad, for the most part, came out strong, we can definitely play better, but for the first game of the tournament, it's a good win to build on." Team Centreville G.M. Dale Schwartzkof  said after the win "Anytime you come into a tournament as a favorite, people are going to measure you by your first game, and hopefully we sent a message around the tournament that we're here, and for real." he added.
Mike Murray turned away all 9 shots he faced in the Centreville cage, recording the shut out in his first game of the tournament.
Team Centreville meets up with Team KCA next, that game being played Tuesday April 2nd, on day 9 of the international tournament.

Team KCA Proves No Match for Team Centreville

By Steve Richardson, Associated Press
NKEC, canning.,- It wasn't pretty for Team Centreville, but their effort against Team KCA on day 15 of the tournament was good enough to earn them a 2-1 victory, and give them sole possession of first place a top the Division 1 standings with a perfect 2-0 record.
In a tight checking, and pretty sloppy game, Team Centreville made the most of their chances, after only getting 5 shots through on goaltender Spencer Welch, and finding the back of the net on 2 of those shots. Mario Lemieux started the scoring with a beautiful end to end rush, leaving every player on Team KCA looking for their jock straps, and than sniped a shot top shelf, where mom keeps the cookies. Scott Mullen replied with a complete flute a few minutes later, when goaltender Mike Murray got a bug in his eye, and was completely helpless, Mullen shot the puck into the open cage.
Wayne Gretzky gave Team Centreville the lead for the eventual win, scoring with 2 minutes left and making so-called "premier shot blocker" Dylan Harrison look like a statue, using him as a screen and picking the top corner.
"We played badly to tell you the truth, but that just shows how great this floor hockey club is, we have the heart, and the game breakers to be able to get away with a poor game and still bring Centreville home the win." said team president and C.E.O Daniel Kyle.
"The boys definitely didn't have their "A" game today, but our team on a poor day is better than most teams on their best days, especially a team like KCA, we're just too much for them." coach Shawn MacKenzie said in a post game press conference.
Goaltender Mike Murray continued his impressive play, making 7 saves on 8 shots, and getting the win. Ben Brown and Jamie Muggah had solid games, and nobody on KCA wanted a piece of Nic Brewster, compiling 4 hits on the afternoon.
Team Centreville has Team Clippers to look forward to next, as they meet up on day 25 (Thursday, 11th). Game time is 11:48 a.m. Contact the box office for ticket information.

Team Centreville Captures Top Spot

By Steve Richardson, Assosiated Press
NKEC, canning.,- When the whistle sounded at the end of the Team Centreville and Team Clippers game today, one team had their path paved to the play-offs, and the other had their path paved to the golf course.
With a big 5-2 victory, Team Centreville added one more victory to their already perfect record, and ensured themselves a spot in the play-offs, while Team Clippers found themselves replacing their hockey sticks, with golf clubs for another season. Centreville was led by Ben Brown with 2 goals and 4 points. Mario Lemeiux helped out with 2 goals of his own, and Wayne Gretzky chipped in with 1 goal and 2 helpers. Mike Murray was solid again in the Centreville cage, turning aside 8 of 10 shots he faced.
"It was a total team effort, we've got the club to take it all, and we're going going to take it all, I'm tired of people taking shots at Centreville floor hockey, we've beaten 2 teams that people said we'd lose to, if we don't have the respect of the people yet, we don't want it." said a bitter sweet general manager Dale Schwartzkof.
"They came out with a lot of grit, but unfortunetly, they forgot that whatever they did, or however they prepared, we were going to beat them, because we're the best team in the tournament, and no one can make me feel differently, sure we lost a lot of good looks when kendall's personal problems forced our G.M. to release him, but we're here to win, and we'll rip apart anyone that trys and stand in our way." said a blood thirsty Jamie Muggah.
In a post game interview for the Centreville Herald, Mike Murray was clearly happy with the performance of the team. "Well we're doing the type of job we knew we could do all along. Every other team out here does nothing but doubt us and put us down, they don't realize that we feel we have the best team in this thing. We have proved it, we've beat two of the best teams in the tournament and now we're clearly focused on gold. I would also like to send out a personnel message to Team Clippers, Thanks for coming out boys and enjoy the golf course." click here for the interview in it's entirety, be advised that some comments may be too explicit for some readers.
Team Centreville, in another one of the tournaments attempts to slow down the winning freight train of the team, did not have another scheduled game, but after President Daniel Kyle, G.M Dale Schwartzkof , and the coaching staff complained to tournament officials, they game with Team Kentville was put on the schedule, on a date to be named later. Information about the game will be posted as soon as the information is available.

Team Centreville Finishes Round Robin Perfect

By Steve Richardson, Associated Press
NKEC, canning.,- 4 games played, 4 Team Centreville wins, and this winning freight train shows no sign of slowing down.
After a very easy 4-2 win against a star struck Team Kentville, a game that saw Team Centreville resting it's two top scorers in Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, and their top goaltender Mike Murray, Jamie Muggah had this to say. "YO, YO, YO hear me out g, I hope all you mo fo's know what we're all about, ya know what'um sayin' g, we's got's da mad skillz to be taken home some gold, ain't chu gonna stop us ,word, ain't no one gonna break our stride, no one gonna slow us down, no way, we're gonna keep on movin', ya hear!"
He was ecstatic, and for good reason, he potted his first tally of the tournament in the game, along with Ben Brown sniping 2 goals in which Catfish himself may of had trouble with, and Mike Murray, playing limited minutes as a forward to rest up for playoffs but had to be dressed in all round robin games due to contract agreements, recorded the other Team Centreville marker on his patented triple deak wrist shot.
"We found ourselves watching them, what they do, how they move the ball, how they're so graceful, it was purely magical, I had gotten some family in here to take pictures of me standing beside the players like, I knew we had a job to do, but I was in Awe of the players playing against me, Even though we got our ass out played and just couldn't keep up, and didn't deserve to be on the same court as them, It was still an experience I will take with me forever, and it's something I can tell my grand kids about." said James Ross about the opportunity to play against some of his heroes.
"It was definitely something special, to actually play against the toughest man in the league, Mike Murray, I had the opportunity to get may ass handed to me in a fight we had earlier, it was special, every fist to my jaw was like a gift rapped package for me saying "hi i'm mike murray, and I'm beating the shit outta you", To actually play against him in this tournament, standing on the same court as the legend, I'm tellin' you, It was awesome." said Ian Morrison on top goaltender and tough forward Mike Murray.
With the win, Team Centreville Finishes with a very attractive 4-0 record, a feat only matched by the teachers in the "kiddy division", where it is believed that after every game the teams are given tele tubbie coloring books and power ranger toys to play with, the two teams are ranked #1 in their divisions and by the international sports media. Playoffs begin in about a weeks time, information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

Lemieux Lifts Team Centreville to O.T. Win and Trip to the Gold Medal Game

By Steve Richardson, Associated Press
NKEC, canning.,- For the second consecutive game, Team Centreville tossed around Team Clippers like dirty laundry and sent them packing to sharpen up their golf game.
In a spirited effort, Team Clippers came out flying, perhaps given the false impression that they had a chance at beating Team Centreville, and even at one point led by a score of 4-1 with only minutes remaining. Needles to say, Team Centreville decided to tie things up after they dominated play in the last 5 minutes, capping off the come back was Ben Brown scoring with just seconds remaining in the game to send it into overtime. Then,  minutes into the extra frame, Mario Lemieux was sent in by Nic Brewster, and on the two on one with Gretzky on the wing, he decided to keep, and got nothing but net past a helpless Colin Mackenzie , to give Team Centreville the 5-4 victory.
The highlight of the game had to have been Nic Ansems and other members of the team throwing anything they could get their hands on, not once but twice in the same game, as if to say "We are no where near the team that they are, what with their great looks and tremendous skill, they're just so much better than us in every aspect of life, I think I want to throw this hockey stick" and so they did.
Team Centrevilles next game, the championship game, will be the winner of either Team KCA or Team Teachers, this match-up will be the first game the teachers will play where the other team members have actually hit puberty. That game goes Tuesday afternoon, and the winner of that will get the oppurtunity to try and keep up with Team Centreville on Thursday for the Gold medal.
